Florida Accommodations

Location
We are located in the lovely oceanside town of Jupiter, Florida, approximately 80 miles north of Miami, 150 miles southeast of Orlando/Disney World and 15 miles north of West Palm Beach. Lodging and meals are not included in our programs. Local attractions include quiet beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, nature preserves, golf, fishing, canoeing, shopping and fine restaurants. Links & photos of Jupiter.

Choice of airports
Families traveling from within the United States or Canada are encouraged to use the Palm Beach International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be 15 miles from Jupiter.

Families traveling from outside the United States can choose either the Miami or Orlando airports. Although Miami is closer, heavy traffic may increase the actual driving time. Some families describe the Orlando airport as more user-friendly and comment that the drive from Orlando to Jupiter is more relaxing than the drive from Miami. A final alternative for those wishing to reduce driving on arrival in the US is to fly to Atlanta, GA and take a connecting flight to Palm Beach International Airport

Car rental
You will need a car. Typical car rental rates vary from $150 to $500 for the week, according to the size of car and season.

Weather
During the winter season (November - April), South Florida is popular vacation destination due to our spectacular weather. Daytime temperatures average in the low 70's (Fahrenheit) from December through February and in the low 80's during November, March and April. It is usually sunny.

The summer season extends from May through October. While the weather is less appealing, you will save money on lodging, and possibly on car rental and airfare by coming during this period. The beaches are quiet and the ocean temperature is a delightful 75-80 degrees. Everything is air-conditioned, including our teaching rooms. Our summer weather is very humid, with daily high temperatures averaging between 88 and 93 degrees Fahrenheit and a daily afternoon thundershower. Rainstorms are common between August and early October.

Accommodations in Florida
We recommend the Jupiter Bay Condominiums. This is a family-oriented resort complex close to a public beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Their rates are just slightly higher then the rate for a hotel room, but they provide a full apartment. See More Photos of Condominium.

Our clients have been complimentary about the cleanliness and safety of the property, the attractive pool area and the amount of space. There is no better value in the vicinity.

The furnished, two-bedroom apartments include a sleeper-sofa in the living room with sleeping room for six people. Each unit has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a screened porch with table and chairs. A grocery store and restaurants are very close.

Early reservations are essential. We suggest that you request a unit on the first or second floor, in order to avoid climbing outdoor stairs to the fourth or fifth floor. Most families also request an apartment with only one door, for added child security.

The rate for a two-bedroom, two-bath unit is $1,200 per week from December until May. Off -season rates of $700 per week are offered between May and December. There are additional mandatory fees for cleaning, sales tax and a refundable security deposit.
